As a cleaning technique, pressure washing has been very popular in the past several decades. This will most certainly continue and become even more popular in the years to come. Most home owners put a lot of effort into cleaning their cars, boats, patios, grills and the exterior of their home. Perfect Choice Pressure Washing & Window Cleaning can save you both time and money. Here are some of the tools and techniques we use to get the job done right:
1. Choosing the Right Nozzle
Our machines come with interchangeable spray tips. These serve two purposes: First, to lower the pressure and draw the detergent; and second, to use high pressure rinse at the different spray angles. The angles vary from 0 to 40 degrees. The smallest angle delivers the most powerful “blast.” For example, if we want to remove a stubborn smudge from your driveway, we normally use a 0 degree angle. When we remove debris (such as leaves, sand, etc.) away from your house, we use a wider angle—a 25 or 45 degree nozzle.
2. Our Chemicals
We only use chemicals and pressure washer cleaning solutions that are safe for the environment and approved for pressure washer use in Houston. Our pressure washers come with a detergent injector. This allows for continuous, uninterrupted flow of the cleaning solution into the water stream. We use different chemicals for a variety of surfaces. For instance, one solution might work well for concrete, but could harm the wood.
3. The Initial Test
We start by spraying few feet away from any object. Then we slowly bring the wand 3-4 feet distance from the cleaning surface. We move our wand from side-to-side a few times to determine whether the surface is responding well to our cleaning technique. If additional cleaning is needed, we gradually move the wand closer to the surface. The reason we do this is because pressure washers are very powerful. We intend to clean the surface, not damage it.
4. Our Technique
We are extra cautious when spraying around windows, postage boxes, flowers, vents, eaves, and light fixtures. These objects can break or become damaged if the pressure washer is aimed directly at them. In addition, we keep the trigger gun pointed downwards so that we don’t spray under the siding. This keeps the siding from being weakened. Also, we are extra cautious when cleaning the edges around the windows. Small, unnoticeable holes can leak water inside your home. We check for any holes, dents and scratches on the frame of the window.
Some companies have inexperienced workers that get carried away. They end up spraying everything and everywhere. Their techniques are random rather than practiced. They miss spots and cause damage. Perfect Choice pressure washing technicians are experienced and skilled. You can trust them to get the job done right and not waste time.
